TRENDS AT H&M FOR SPRING 2010The design team offer a diverse mix for H&M's spring collection. Ethnic influences from all over the world, old Hollywood fashion classics and college styles. Sharp silhouettes boast angular lines with an 80’s influence and in contrast there is soft feminine draping. Fabrics have new blends, structures and surfaces. You will also see inspiration from both art and nature which make up the most enchanting prints”, says H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson. LADIESModern urban looks includes cool white suits and feminine draped dresses that give both softness and strength. Jumpsuits are softer in slippery silks and loose harem pants in luxurious gold lame add dramatic glamour. Romantic vintage style dresses and artist’s style tunics offer a preppy and retro ‘chic housewife’ look. Global inspiration comes in the form of embroideries, tunic and kaftan styles and spicy colour palettes MENClassic Menswear favourites have been updated this season. There is a new take on the preppy look that includes a new modern check shirt and stripe t-shirt as well as a baseball jacket. As in ladieswear there are ethnic influences in menswear too, using paisley prints and rustic tones in modern ways.
