Romano Ricci, “THE CITIZEN KING” of perfumes.A young creator with a prestigious name, Romano Ricci had the chance to be initiated at a young age into the secrets of perfumery by his grandfather, Robert Ricci: “He had a great respect for tradition and a vision of femininity which still influences me today. He transmitted the rudiments of perfumery to me, but also how to transgress them.” 60 years later, it is his turn to take the reins. After working with Francis Kurkdjian on two perfumes (Lady Revenge and Miss Charming), he launched himself into the maze of olfactory creation and became a perfumer. With the continuation of the female ideal, Romano Ricci proposes at the same time a daring and poetic universe, which releases conventions and explores new territories… In Paris, Romano Ricci launched a new line of perfumes entitled “Juliette has a Gun”. Inspired by the heroine of Shakespeare, the “Juliette has a Gun” brand modernizes romanticism by proposing a vision of the world which turns to the advantage of women. Free and daring, Juliette wields her assets of seduction. Her perfume becomes her gun, a predatory weapon that the creator has imagined based around the rose. Two perfumes have been created from this idea: The first, “Miss Charming”, equips a Juliette at the same time innocent and mischievous, curious and off-hand: a fruity version of the Moroccan Rose, wild fruit musk and airs. The second, a little less wise, is called “Lady Revenge” and will accompany an elegant and dominating Juliette, who has decided to transform her capacity for seduction into a frightening weapon. A thorny note of Bulgarian Rose pink, mixed with vanilla and patchouli. Inevitable. Introduced in 2007 at Colette, in the spring, in the Bon Marché, at Franck & Wire, Romano and his Juliette featured in much of the press. From New York to Paris, Tokyo and Milan, the brand created a confidential network rather than a mass distribution, where sadly, each name becomes a brand, and each creation becomes a Product. And if the large chains court his Juliette, he answers that “luxury must imply a certain presentation, a difficulty of access which is not compatible with a self-service distribution. These women do not want to smell their fragrance on others.” It should be said that the dandy perfumer has a sense of smell… and a name! Grandson of Robert Ricci, and great-grandson of Nina, he has bathed in creation since he was very young. And when he decided to launch his brand, it was quite natural that he turned to Francis Kurkdjian for his perfumes: father of several successful creations such as « Le Mâle » by Jean-Paul Gautier, Narcisso Rodriguez, and Acqua Di Parma, Francis Kurkdjian is a great name in perfumery. A brand, a style and an allure, Juliette has a Gun spins her essence around the modern woman, divided between romanticism, strength of character, and desire for freedom. A brand which leaves the “conventional” discourse of perfumery behind, moving towards a new tone, more daring, more dynamic, whilst remaining poetic. A liberated brand… far from consumer tests and marketing strategies, a brand which creates perfumes of exception, its only objective: to create “shocks” of femininity with each of its wakes… Luxury, in its spicy, unique way.
