Another claims “Fashion’s on the ball because it’s full of girls!” and very quickly Ramdane becomes the leader of the new arrivals in the medium of fashion. 1998: birth ofl’Epicerie, which acts as an avant-garde concept store, mixing fashion, contemporary art and limited editions. He creates a collection of clothing for the brand, directing sales as well as event production. 2001: Returning from Japan after an accomplished mission, Ramdane and Victoire de Taillac join together to form the Press Office Victoire de Taillac. The list of the customers is prestigious: Prada, Dior, Celine, Nars cosmetics, Baccarrat, Jil Sander, V magazine, etc… 2002: Perspicacious and observant, Ramdane notes that the cosmetics market in France is dominated 90% by the famous brands. This is the origin of the General Perfumery (Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Riyadh and Jeddah) concept store, specializing in alternative cosmetics brands. Little-known brands begin their career at General Parfumerie before sailing into the French and European markets. 2003: Ramdane is called up by Liberty, the famous London department store which is looking for a breath of fresh air. He becomes artistic director and menswear buyer for this famous store. This time, the young fashion designers emerge in England, from all over the place, and the English customers are conquered. This same year, he is headhunted by the Tod’s Group to take part in an exhibition on the universe of the motor bike. On this occasion, he creates a unique model of a motor bike in collaboration with the Whitehouse Japanese. From 2003: Ramdane returns to fashion, a universe in which he can give free rein to all his imagination and let his energy fly. He creates RT and Resistance, two menswear brands. Inspired by Japan (working clothes, busuzuku garments, parts of military uniforms…) where Ramdane worked for more than one year (2000/2001), these lines were conceived ignoring the fashion norms: proportions, sizes, matter ratio/use, symbols… In this margin of signs and signifiers, Résistance is full of political words, signals, revolutionary symbols, spontaneous proclamations. Alongside it, RT remains a quieter range, more elegant, generally being outerwear. Ramdane presents two collections per annum from 2003 and affirms his presence in the Salon Tranoï every season. The grid of distribution is increasingly denser.
