Exclusive interview ACQUA DI PARMAfor PARIS PLANETFASHION1.From A to Z, how does one create perfume at ACQUA DI PARMA, that is to say, creating the juice, the bottle, packaging and communication? The creation of juice is entrusted to great perfumers and the perfumes are always constituted from noble and very high quality essences; the inspiration always comes from Italy, (citrus fruit from Sicily, bergamot, Iris from Florence...) ADP is a traditional Italian brand of Italian know-how. The bottles are hand-made (see the press kit hand made). The boxes are always yellow for the perfumes, because yellow is the colour of Parma. The communication’s aim is always very refined and prestigious. It is a qualitative brand. 2. Why this obsession with stylishness in pure and elegant discretion, always with these visible codes, as with the colour yellow? Style is the brand’s DNA. 3. Do you benefit from LVMH’s infrastructure? and in what way? Sometimes, in some countries, the distribution is done through the subsidiaries. 4. In ACQUA DI PARMA’s international communication, why isn’t there ever a face representing one of your key products? It is always the product that is at the centre of communication; Acqua di Parma wants to be different from the other brands. The product is king! 5. Are there any collaboration or co branding projects with a big name in fashion for example? No 6 Do you have any best-sellers in Italy? France? and the USA? Is it above all Colonia 7. The AQUA DI PARMA boutique in Milan is famous, what is the boutique’s concept? And coming back to beauty, how do you do it: not following trends and still being “IN”?. The boutique is an Italian life style boutique. Nothing is ever ostentatious, the colours are not loud; Parma yellow is represented everywhere, with wengue, noble wood and design. The brand doesn’t try to be fashionable while being timeless. Fashion becomes outdated, not style!
